As soon as we arrived at The MoodRX Retreat in the Hudson River Valley, We, the High Herstory co-founders, were enveloped in a sense of serenity that promised a truly rejuvenating weekend. Nestled in an idyllic setting and gorgeous views, the retreat took place in a beautiful home that seemed like it was straight out of a dream.
As soon as we arrived at The MoodRX Retreat in the Hudson River Valley, We, the High Herstory co-founders, were enveloped in a sense of serenity that promised a truly rejuvenating weekend. Nestled in an idyllic setting and gorgeous views, the retreat took place in a beautiful home that seemed like it was straight out of a dream. With two hot tubs, a pool, a plethora of rooms including a karaoke bar and direct river access, the ambiance was nothing short of enchanting. Our room was perfect, with two large and comfortable beds in the room and the MoodRX Retreat goody bags provided all the essentials for a relaxing weekend and even included some gummies and goodies to take home.
Our excitement reached new heights when we were greeted with a sumptuous spread prepared by Chef Jaci and our host, Holly. Holly showed us around the property and introduced us to their "bud bar," fully and thoughtfully stocked with a variety of Camino edibles, Hudson Cannabis Pre-rolls, 1906 Bliss and other curated cannabis products. Of course these accoutrements added an extra layer of enjoyment and we were stoked to get this retreat started and meet the fellow guests!

The first day was all about embracing leisure and forging connections. We arrived around 4:20 and sipped on THC sparkling sodas, engaged in heartfelt conversations around the bonfire, and found an instant camaraderie with the other cannabis enthusiasts at the retreat. The atmosphere was laid-back and inviting, encouraging everyone to unwind and recharge on their own terms. Next up was dinner, prepared by the talented chef, was a culinary masterpiece that left our taste buds dancing. Following the delightful meal, we indulged in the luxury of the hot tubs while enjoying joints and watching the sun set over the picturesque landscape. It was a moment of sheer bliss, and we couldn't help but imagine making this a regular part of our lives. The night wound down with a sound healing led by AJ, the Spiritual Wellness Educator at the retreat.
We really felt at the end of the first day that this retreat was something special. We haven’t attended many cannabis retreats, but attend cannabis events and shows often. There was something more personal and bespoke about this experience, it didn’t feel like it was manufactured around getting as lit as possible and getting into trouble. Not that there’s anything wrong with that, it’s just we prefer a more conscious consumption space and we really felt like the MoodRX Retreat understood that we love the plant but we want to have a mindful connection and experience when we consume. Our night slumber was amazing and we used the weighted eye mask from Camino to relax into a deep sleep, we woke up well rested and ready to have an adventure filled day.
The next day began with a plunge into first hot and then cold water, a practice that was new to us and remarkably invigorating. Our gracious host, Holly, embraced this practice daily, and we quickly understood why. The sense of rejuvenation was unparalleled, setting the stage for a fulfilling day ahead. We seriously felt like our bodies were recharged from dipping first into the hotter and after in a cooling tub set to 60 degrees. After a nourishing breakfast, we engaged in journaling, a practice enhanced by the prompts provided in our goody bags. For journaling and the morning cold/hot dunk, we smoked our Hudson Cannabis Pre-roll filled with a wonderful Sativa dominant strain called “juicy diesel”, I have to say Hudson Cannabis is one of our favorite NYC cannabis companies and this joint was the perfect way to start our Saturday.
Jaci grilled us up some healthy lunch and we ate outside on the porch and took in the lovely scenery. Another thing that struck us about the MoodRX Retreat, was that the food was so healthy but not in a restrictive way. A lot of retreats go over board with vegan, gluten free and frankly, not exciting options for food. We felt like the food was of the highest quality and it was actual food. For example dinner the first night was steak, veggies, and a wedge salad that made us feel nourished and satisfied. Holly asked us if we had any food preferences or restrictions before the trip so we know that would accommodate your diet if needed.
The camaraderie among the attendees continued to grow as we smoked or indulged in the CQ Cannabis Infused sparking drinks by the pool, while reading books or doing leisure activities. We then embarked on individual tarot readings with AJ. AJ's insights and the sound healing meditation from the previous night created an ethereal experience that left us inspired and contemplative. We love consulting the stars and AJ really has an inspiring grasp on the spiritual realm, we felt like we were in great hands. We also loved hearing the other guests Big 3, shout out to our astro-girls, they will know what that means.
Following our tarot readings, we ventured to the dock for a High Herstory photoshoot, embracing the tranquil beauty that surrounded us. The retreat's flexible schedule allowed us to flow between structured activities and moments of personal reflection, a perfect balance for us as self-proclaimed "introvert-extrovert woo-woo girlies." As the day drew to a close, we relished in another delectable dinner, followed by a rejuvenating evening of karaoke and s'mores. The performances were nothing short of magical, showcasing the radiant auras of each participant. What struck us most was the absence of pressure—everyone was free to participate or simply bask in the positive energy. We really liked the energy of the whole group, everyone was understanding and fun and we all seemed able to connect even though we had just met.
Reflecting on our time at The MoodRX Retreat, we couldn't help but feel that it was tailored to suit every individual's desires and the perfect getaway for women who love to consume the plant in the name of wellness. The retreat is geared toward women in the over thirty crowd as opposed to younger people who might be seeking a less relaxing experience, and we loved that there was a blend of ages in attendance. We learned so much about how the plant was viewed in the past, how far it has come and how we can utilize it for conversation and camaraderie. We felt truly enveloped in safety as we shared our life stories and bonded with this group of fantastic women. The blend of holistic practices, leisurely pursuits, and the freedom to choose our path made this retreat truly exceptional.

Yuzu Lemon with 5mg of THC and 5 MG CBD are so flavorful and truly balanced. They were perfect to enjoy while walking around the property.
Betty’s Eddies: Ache Away Eddies for Pain Relief
These full-spectrum 5mg THC cherry flavored chews are also infused with organic turmeric, vitamin E and piperine. Betty’s Eddies are some of our very favorites and are perfect if you’re experiencing mild pain like a headache, or even distracting you from a painful bug bit itch!
1906 Chill Pills
We took these 1906 Chill pills 30 minutes before a sound activation and wow, did they create a very relaxing sensory experience! We love that there is no added sugar.
CannaCure Farms Prerolls
We had the 1 Gram Pre-Roll in Glueberry and enjoyed a few puffs with our afternoon tea. It was an rapid uplifting experience followed by a feeling of deep relaxation.

These delicious cannabis infused beverages with 5mg of THC were stocked for us the entire trip. Our favorite flavor was Watermelon Cucumber Spritzer. Our only complaint was they were a little too sweet for our liking!
Heady Tree Peach Pie
This preroll had 25.6% THC and was a nice even balanced hybrid strain with a fruity taste. It was absolutely delicious and hit quickly. We had never tried Heady Tree before and were pleasantly surprised. Absolutely keep them on your radar.

Taboo Social Club CBDA Flower
Full Spectrum Blue Citrus Dark, Strain: First Light. It was so nice to have CBD flower on hand in case anyone got too high (see chocolate dosage from above)! This sun-grown flower had terpene notes of B-Caryophyllene, Limonene, Linalool, Pinene, Sabinene. It was smooth and made us feel centered.

Annette: I really felt like the smoke was very accessible, almost like it didn’t feel as harsh and like the onset of the elevated feeling you get was slower but steady. I really liked how the piece looked and using it with friends, but I will admit that the piece itself can feel a little daunting but once it was set up, it was easier than I thought it would be to use and assemble, it just seems like a lot of work. Even after smoking I felt hesitant to take it down and clean it because I didn’t want to set it up again even though it was relatively easy and painless. Maybe smokers are a little lazy?
I also really like how easy the piece seems to clean. The large water globes are easy to pour water in and out of and cleaning the Stüdenglass seems like it would be really easy because each part comes apart so effortlessly. The piece also comes with a bubbler attachment, that I haven’t gotten to yet, but I can’t wait to try. The creative Instagram reels you could make with this gravity bong are also a huge plus. It’s more of an investment than most smoking devices, but it feels like a must have if you are in the industry or an avid cannabis consumer.
Overall Thoughts:
A quirky feature that quickly became a favorite of ours was the "flip it over twice" technique. What we loved: This is a true seltzer. We love that Lift is flavored to taste so deliciously clean. There’s absolutely no extra sugar or weird aftertaste. Very much appreciate that they didn’t go overboard on the flavor. It’s very balanced and refreshing. We are big fans of the Passion Fruit. We felt very outgoing and energized after a can. Because our tolerance is high we could each have a few cans but this would be perfect for someone just starting their cannabis drink journey or someone who wanted a more mellow feeling.

Johnson and Silvia Rivera, where she suffered a broken jaw and was arrested during the uprising. Miss Major then went on to survive the riot at Attica State Prison, where more than half of the prisoners took control of the correctional facility, holding employees hostage until their 28 demands for better living conditions were discussed and, for the most part, subsequently fulfilled. In the 80s and 90s, Miss Major found herself in California, lending her time to the community impacted by the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
Recently, Miss Major was Executive Director of the Transgender Gender Variant Intersex Justice Project, which “is a group of transgender, gender variant and intersex people—inside and outside of prisons, jails and detention centers– creating a united family in the struggle for survival and freedom.”
As well as being an activist, she is a mother to four and a godmother to many, and just last month, Miss Major announced that she and her partner Beck Witt have another child on the way! They live together happily in Arkansas, where she continues fighting for marginalized rights.

High Herstory: What was your “a-ha” moment when you both decided you wanted to start your brand, Hello Again?
Answer: We decided to explore local dispensaries in 2018, as cannabis had just become legal in California and we were curious. Our experience that day made us quickly realize that cannabis was uniquely suited to address many of the discomforts we had been experiencing as women in menopause. For months, we searched for a single product geared to address our discomfort without providing a psychoactive high, but there was nothing to be found. We decided to take matters into our own hands – by formulating the product we were looking for and building our own brand from the ground up. High Herstory: Have you noticed a trend with your consumers in seeking out these types of products now that cannabis has become more accessible?
A: Absolutely. Cannabis use is not only more accessible, but the stigma around cannabis is quickly decreasing. In addition, we have seen an influx of new consumers coming to the market. When we founded Hello Again there were very few wellness products and now there are entire dispensary sections dedicated to wellness products. For Hello Again, education is crucial to our marketing and sales strategy. There is still a lot of education that needs to be done on how cannabis can improve health and wellness.
High Herstory: It’s mind-blowing to us how little information and solutions there are surrounding menopause. We know that your personal experiences helped to inform your products, what would you say is the most common misconception about going through menopause that you have found?
A: The most common misconception about menopause is that your best years are behind you.
We have found the opposite to be true. Midlife should be liberating. As active child-rearing responsibilities come to a close, daily life can be recreated around more selfish priorities. Your relationship with your partner can be deepened and redefined as you rediscover each other under new circumstances. Midlife provides the time and space for a new kind of personal growth.
Menopause and midlife are also accompanied by a new outlook for many women. We become less focused on what others think and less competitive with other women. This change ushers in a wonderful new phase for both old and new friendships.

A: We love to support other female founded products in the cannabis industry. Patty loves the Proof face and body serum. Carrie loves Humboldt Apothecary tinctures.

A: We’re currently only available in our home state of California, but plan to expand into additional markets across the country imminently.

A: Last year we developed Hello Again Period and Hello Again Hangover in response to how younger women were using our original menopause-focused Hello Again Everyday. We now see another use case emerging and are in early talks about a product geared toward that demographic
High Herstory: Do you have any advice for female entrepreneurs looking to start a wellness line in the cannabis space?
A: The cannabis industry is a tough, rapidly changing industry. Go slow until you know.
This is a riff on a saying within the cannabis space about starting with small doses until you know what you can handle. We repurposed and slightly rephrased it as a business reminder. In the beginning, we were too reactive to situations. We learned that when we want to impulsively react in order to solve a problem or act on advice, we need to keep ourselves in check and slow down the decision-making process.
